Furthermore, we developed the Whole Health Index (WHI), a first-of-its-kind assessment that measures individual and community health holistically. The WHI uses over 90 data points across physical, behavioral, and social health categories, including factors like food insecurity, transportation accessibility, and housing instability. This index helps identify community-level needs and allows Elevance Health-affiliated plans and external organizations to shape programs that improve quality of life, close gaps in care, and make healthcare more affordable for everyone.
