InCommunity of Georgia, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency headquartered in Atlanta, GA, dedicated to providing meaningful support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD). Their core mission is to empower these individuals to live safe, healthy, and joyful lives within their communities, fostering dignity, choice, and opportunity.
The organization offers a comprehensive suite of community-based services, including:
- Residential Support: Providing various living arrangements such as 30+ residential settings, 50+ HOST homes, and 2 crisis homes, tailored to individual needs.
- EmployABILITY (Employment Services): Offering job-seeking, job coaching, and long-term employment support for post-high school adults with I/DD to secure and maintain competitive employment.
- Respite Care: Delivering temporary relief to families and caregivers through maintenance respite (up to 30 days) and emergency respite (1 to 6 weeks), available in-home or out-of-home.
- Family Support Funding: Assisting families in accessing funding for essential goods and services like summer camps, various therapies, recreational activities, and necessary supplies.
- Day Programs: Operating four distinct day programs (Marietta, South Atlanta, Roswell) that provide opportunities for meaningful activities, community inclusion, therapeutic engagement, social interaction, and daily living skills.
- Community Living Support (CLS): Offering individually tailored assistance for those residing in their family home and one-to-one teaching/coaching sessions on independent life skills.
- Crisis Support: Providing intensive in-home support for up to 7 days and managing two crisis homes specifically for individuals with developmental disabilities facing severe behavioral challenges.
InCommunity has a rich history, formed in 2014 from the merger of enAble of Georgia and Georgia Community Support and Solutions (GCSS), with roots tracing back to 1979. They proudly celebrated 45 years of service in 2024, having supported over 10,000 Georgian community members. The organization emphasizes community integration, advocating for people with disabilities, and building awareness. They also facilitate access to Medicaid waiver programs like NOW and COMP for eligible individuals.
